Inshop Advanced: new features to sell online without a traditional e-commerce

For many retailers, opening an e-commerce is over-investment. Inshop Advanced lets you sell straight from your content — flyer, app, site — without running a separate platform.

In recent years we've seen hundreds of retailers open an e-commerce and shut it down 18 months later. Not for lack of customers, but because the management cost — dedicated warehouse, customer care, logistics, marketing — was disproportionate to volume.

That observation gave birth to Inshop, the inpublish Suite module that lets you sell online directly from existing commercial content: the interactive flyer, the app, the website. Without a parallel e-commerce.

What's new in Inshop Advanced

The Advanced version, recently released, adds features that make it viable even for retailers previously using a full-blown e-commerce for higher volumes.

1. Unified multi-channel cart

The customer starts a cart on the digital flyer, continues in the app, completes on the site. All synced real-time, no need to rebuild the order. For the merchant: a single customer view.

2. Embedded payment, no redirect

The customer pays inside the content, no jump to an external platform. Native support for cards, Apple Pay, Google Pay, Klarna, and instant bank transfer where needed.

3. Real-time stock visibility

Inshop Advanced connects to the warehouse system and shows real availability, store by store. When a product runs out, it disappears from the offer — no orders on missing items.

4. Click & collect and hybrid delivery

For each order the customer chooses: home shipping, in-store pickup, or local delivery from the nearest store. The merchant configures options by geography.

5. Tiered pricing and price lists

B2C, B2B, members, employees: each sees their price. No need to run separate sites.

When it fits (and when it doesn't)

Inshop Advanced is the right choice if:

  • You already have a live flyer or app and want to monetize them directly.
  • Your catalog lives elsewhere (ERP, back-office) and you don't want a second source of truth.
  • Online volume is meaningful but doesn't justify a dedicated e-commerce team.
  • You sell standard items from your assortment — no need for creative merchandising.

It's not the right choice if you sell a very wide catalog, totally different from in-store, with independent pricing and merchandising strategy. In that case a dedicated e-commerce is still the way — and we have a service for that too, see our E-commerce page.

Real numbers from customers using it

  • Average setup time: 3 weeks (vs 4-6 months for a custom e-commerce).
  • Conversion rate from digital flyer: 2.4% (vs 0.6% on an external e-commerce site linked from the flyer).
  • Monthly running cost: 70-80% less than a dedicated e-commerce stack.
